About the painting:
This snowy landscape is very close to home at a local park in Ashland, Virginia. I love trudging to this park after a snowfall because it takes on a magical appearance. In summer the tree canopy obscures a lot of the morning light, so it is especially nice to be able to see the sunlight glimmering on the pond and through the bare trees.
