About the painting:
This large studio painting is inspired by a plein air study I painted on location and photos I took during a plein air festival in Floyd County. In this painting I wanted to evoke the feeling I have when I take in the sweeping vistas of this beautiful part of Virginia’s Blue Ridge. It is at once peaceful and exhilarating!
