About the painting:

The Outer Banks of North Carolina is my “happy place”. In fact, it has been the place for fun and renewal for both myself and my family for a number of years. As my daughter grows older and I work and travel more frequently, this special place on the Carolina shores becomes like a beacon of hope and rejuvenation in our lives. This was painted during a trip in October, my first experience of the Outer Banks in the fall. The weather was changeable, but beautiful. On this morning, after a night of rain, we were gifted with the gilded shimmer of the sun over a relatively calm low tide.
