About the painting:

The Outer Banks of North Carolina is my “happy place”. In fact, it has been the place for fun and renewal for both myself and my family for a number of years. As my daughter grows older and I work and travel more frequently, this special place on the Carolina shores becomes like a beacon of hope and rejuvenation in our lives. This was painted during a trip in October, my first experience of the Outer Banks in the fall. Amazingly it was still quite warm and the water was delightful. It also had the benefit of being less crowded than the summer months, making the experience even more magical for my family.
